AbGel® Absorbable Gelatin Sponge is a sterile, bioabsorbable hemostatic dressing designed to control bleeding during dental, oral, periodontal, implant, and general surgical procedures. Manufactured from purified pharmaceutical-grade gelatin, AbGel rapidly absorbs blood and supports stable clot formation, providing effective local hemostasis without interfering with normal wound healing.
The sponge is soft, porous, and can be easily cut or shaped to fit extraction sockets and surgical sites. Once placed, it absorbs many times its own weight in blood and is gradually resorbed by the body, typically within 4–6 weeks, eliminating the need for removal.
AbGel is widely used after tooth extractions, periodontal surgery, implant placement, apicoectomy, oral surgical procedures, and other situations where local bleeding control is required. It is supplied sterile and intended for single-patient use.
